What is Mommy Makeover?

Pregnancy, birth and breastfeeding are periods that every woman goes through intensely and witnesses spiritual and physical changes. At the end of pregnancy, which is a natural transformation process, the mother's body may be worn out more than necessary. Both the intense emotional accumulation of bringing a person into life and the physical difficulties can be challenging for women. The extra skin, weight and looseness left on the body as a result of all these changes are disturbing for many women. Mommy makeover, known as maternity aesthetics, aims to eliminate deformations experienced in the body after birth.
The process that every woman goes through during pregnancy is different from the other. For some, breast sagging occurs after birth, while for others, cracks and loosening occur in the waist area. For this reason, maternity aesthetics are planned individually and may require a combination of different operations. Procedures such as full tummy tuck, restoring breast tissue to its previous volume, and breast lift are all included in the mommy makeover process. The aim of these applications is to offer the mother a body that will be aesthetically pleasing and to prevent loss of self-confidence.

When to Do Mommy Makeover?

Mommy makeover surgery is one of the procedures that many mothers dream of, but as in every operation, the mother must first be in good health. It is best to wait for the end of the breastfeeding process to perform such procedures, that is, ideally, at least 6 months or 1 year have passed since the birth. However, the waiting period may vary depending on the details and scope of the procedure to be performed, as a matter of fact, especially in cases where abdominoplasty is requested, it is recommended to wait at least 1 year for the muscles there to recover.

Apart from this, mommy makeover is a procedure frequently preferred by all women between the ages of 25-40 and is generally applied when diet and exercise are not sufficient. It is one of the most effective operations to regain aesthetic beauty for women who have given birth more than once.

Although most of the weight gained during birth leaves the body with the baby, the excess volume caused by this weight remains behind. In other words, it is possible to lose weight with regular exercise and diet, but the skin that expands in volume due to pregnancy cannot be removed as easily. During weight gain and loss, stretch marks are observed in the abdomen, legs and chest areas. In addition, sagging occurs throughout the body, especially in the breasts.
All physical problems experienced due to pregnancy are within the scope of mommy makeover aesthetics and the procedures performed during the application can be listed as follows:
● Breast reduction
● Breast augmentation
